The Planning Kit

Planning is one of the key components in all the work I do, because it is such a key part of effective marketing. If you don’t know where you’re going, you can’t get there – and creating a goal-focused marketing plan ensures you, your activities and your time management are all signed and working together towards the same end.

A marketing plan that works for you is more efficient, as it means you spend less time thinking and agonising over what to do next. It’s more effective, as you’ve formulated a scheme of activities that all have a tangible role to play. It’s more focused, because you work within the parameters defined by your goals and don’t lose time and energy to other things. And most importantly, it builds your confidence – rather than worrying, dithering and stressing about whether things are wrong or right, you can show up to your business every day knowing what you’re doing and trusting yourself.

There’s no such thing as a ‘one size fits all’ marketing plan, however. Believe me, I’ve tried enough! Free templates from marketing experts, suggestions from Pinterest, print outs from courses I did in old jobs, advice I’ve picked up from podcasts. There are so many different planning methods, because there are so many different humans – the method that works for you, will be unique to you.

The Planning Kit isn’t here to tell you that you should plan a certain way, or try to shoehorn into my own planning method. Instead, it’s designed to set you up with good planning habits, to cultivate a marketing mindset, to set and focus in on your goals and end up with a scheme of activity that you feel confident in. How you plan that into your months and weeks is up to you (but I will make suggestions 😊).
